On the afternoon of May 30th, the 2025 SJTU Multilingual Recital “100 Years of Labor Movement - 75 Years of New Chapters” took place in the Concert Hall of the School of Humanities. The event was co-hosted by the Trade Union of the School of Foreign Languages, the Trade Union of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University Faculty Association for Speech and Recital. 

 

 

 

Xiao Guofang, vice director of Shanghai Jiao Tong University Trade Union, said that SFL's multilingual recital project had been organized for many times, and had produced continuous cohesion and influence. There were also innnovation and upgrading in terms of the theme setting, organizational form and type of activities. 

 

Zhang Chongfeng, a national model worker and advanced worker, and model chief designer of Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, shared the spirit of model workers. His wonderful speech made the teachers and students deeply feel the great power of labor spirit and craftsmanship.

 

Zhu Yifan, the SFL Party Secretary, presented to Mr. Zhang a portrait of him prepared by SJTU students.

In the multi-lingual recital, teachers from the School of Foreign Languages, the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the Faculty Association for Speech and recital presented a series of wonderful programs. The recital was divided into three chapters: “A Century's Labor Movement: Review and Tribute”, “Spirit of Model Workers: Inheritance and Promotion” and “Jiao Tong University's Mission: Striving for a New Era”. It reviewed the inheritance and promotion of the model workers' spirit over a century's workers' movement in a multi-lingual, multi-dimensional and trans-era way, showcasing the mission and responsibility of striving for a new era.

In her concluding remarks, Zhu Yifan expressed her sincere gratitude to the organizing and participating units and staff of the event. She said that the ten wonderful performances today linked the wisdom of ten trade union groups, and the cooperation among three units composed a magnificent harmony of a hundred years and seventy-five years. This fully demonstrated the united and enterprising spirit of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Standing at a new historical starting point, let's continue to join hands, pass on the spirit of the labor movement through language, interpret the quality of craftsmanship through labor, and write the chapter of the times through unity.
